Tony’s Place secures $21,520 grant from Health Care Advocates International for service expansion

The Houston-based nonprofit organization, Tony's Place, which serves the LGBTQ+ community, has been awarded a grant of $21,520. The funds are earmarked for its Emergency Housing Program for LGBTQ+ youth and have been provided by Health Care Advocates International (HCAI). Tony's Place is one of four organizations to receive funding in the recent HCAI Fund grant cycle.

Abbott, family spend Thanksgiving volunteering with Meals on Wheels

Gov. Greg Abbott, First Lady Cecilia Abbott, and their daughter Audrey spent part of their Thanksgiving Day volunteering with Meals on Wheels Central Texas. The state’s First Family assisted the non-profit organization with delivering Thanksgiving dinners to homebound seniors in Austin and were accompanied by Meals on Wheels Central Texas President and CEO Henry Van De Putte. This event took place on November 25, 2021.
