Houston law firm Ford + Bergner has made a $25,000 donation to the local faith-based nonprofit organization Amazing Place ahead of the 2024 observance of World Alzheimer's Day on September 21.

According to a September 20 press release attributed to Amazing Place, the donation was also made in honor of the firm's 25th anniversary.

Don D. Ford, managing partner at Ford + Bergner, said in the release that he first became aware of Amazing Place nearly 15 years ago. Armed with extensive experience representing people diagnosed with dementia, Ford committed his law firm to supporting organizations like Amazing Place. The nonprofit enriches the lives of participants in its Day Program and Connections Program and provides essential knowledge and tools for families, caregivers, health professionals, and the community.

Ford + Bergner frequently refers clients to Amazing Place, according to the release.

About 7 million Americans are afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease, and 33% of people over the age of 85 are diagnosed with dementia. More than 11 million Americans provide unpaid care for loved ones with dementia, prompting Ford + Bergner to devote itself to such a cause.
