Houston ISD reports substantial gains in latest STAAR exam results
Preliminary results for the 2023-2024 STAAR Exams indicate that Houston Independent School District (HISD) students have made significant progress in most tested subjects and grade levels. In particular, HISD students showed substantial gains in four of five End of Course Exams: Algebra I, English I, English II, Biology, and US History. In some instances, proficiency levels have surpassed those recorded before the COVID-19 pandemic.
