The HISD Talent Acquisition Team will host a 2024–2025 Campus Hiring Event on Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Delmar Fieldhouse (2020 Mangum Road, 77092).
K-12 educators are invited to learn about Team HISD and the student-centered work underway.
HISD has announced teacher salaries for the 2024-2025 academic year based on average salaries of current teachers with over five years of experience:
General Education Teacher:
• NES: $76,000 – $96,000
• Non-NES: $64,000 – $89,000
Critical Shortage Teacher:
• Special Education
o NES: $86,000 – $92,000
o Non-NES: $80,000 – $90,000
• Bilingual Teacher
o NES: $75,000 – $81,000
o Non-NES: $81,000 – $89,000
• Pre-K Teacher:
o NES: $70,000 – $76,000
o Non-NES: $64,000 – $89,000
The event will feature both NES and non-NES campuses and is open to various positions including teacher roles as well as assistant principal, counselor, librarian/media specialist positions among others.
By the 2025-2026 school year, HISD plans for the average teacher salary to be approximately $75,000.
Eligibility requirements are specified for both external and internal applicants. External applicants must submit an online application and complete additional steps prior to attending. Internal applicants in Chapter 21 contract positions are not eligible due to the closure of the HISD Transfer Period on April 26.
