Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in an Aug. 21 Twitter post that he visited injured deputy Joseph Anderson in the hospital and the latter is doing well. The suspect accused of shooting Anderson was captured following a five-hour standoff at a Silhouette Ridge residence.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced on X on Aug. 17 that Terran Green, the man accused of shooting sheriff’s deputy Joseph Anderson during a traffic stop earlier this week, has been apprehended and is facing three counts of attempted capital murder.

Hidalgo takes medical leave for clinical depression: 'It is important for me personally and professionally to confront this issue swiftly, so I will be taking temporary leave from the office while I am receiving treatment'

On Aug. 7, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo announced hat she’s taking leave to pursue inpatient care for clinical depression, according to an Aug. 7 Twitter post from her office. The post was shared along with a letter from Hidalgo, a Democrat, herself addressing the situation.
