WASHINGTON – During House Republicans’ “Energy Week” this week, U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) voted to pass six bills to unleash American energy.

Rep. McCaul expressed his concerns about President Biden's energy policies, stating, "Since his first day in office, President Biden has faithfully carried out extreme Democrats’ attacks on American energy, which he then tried to mitigate by dangerously draining our strategic petroleum reserve — a critical national security resource."

He further emphasized, "American energy is the cleanest energy in the world. By attacking it, this administration is all but shoving other countries into the arms of our adversaries, who will happily sell them their cheap, dirty energy. House Republicans will keep fighting for as long as it takes to restore America’s energy dominance."

Background:

As part of the efforts to combat the administration’s climate agenda, Rep. McCaul voted to pass several bills during "Energy Week." These bills include measures such as repealing sections of the Clean Air Act, denouncing anti-American energy policies, protecting American energy production, restoring American energy dominance, creating confidence in clean water permitting, and expressing disapproval of President Biden’s planned carbon tax.

The bills aim to promote American energy independence and combat what House Republicans perceive as harmful policies affecting the energy sector. Rep. McCaul's support for these measures underscores his commitment to restoring America's energy dominance.
