University of Houston receives $1.9M grant to boost academic publishing diversity

The University of Houston Population Health (UHPH) is set to embark on a new research initiative, backed by a $1.9 million grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. The project aims to address disparities in academic publishing among early career faculty, with a focus on supporting scholars from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.


University of Houston receives $10 million gift from Cemo Family Foundation

The University of Houston has received a $10 million donation from the Michael and Rebecca Cemo Family Foundation to support its Intercollegiate Athletics. This contribution will specifically aid in the construction and maintenance of the new Memorial Hermann Football Operations Center. In recognition, the west-end scoreboard at TDECU Stadium will bear the Cemo family’s name.

Bipartisan bill targets veteran suicide prevention through improved data collection

Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX), along with Congressmen Greg Landsman (D-OH), Derrick Van Orden (R-WI), and Chris Deluzio (D-PA), has introduced the What Works for Preventing Veteran Suicide Act.
