Texans' Cashman garners AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors

Houston Texans linebacker Blake Cashman has been recognized for his outstanding performance on defense. Cashman was awarded the American Football Conference (AFC) Defensive Player of the Week honors following the Texans' 20-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints. This is the first time Cashman, a fifth-year veteran and University of Minnesota product, has received this accolade.

Texas A&M identifies freshman found dead at dorm as young woman from Baytown

Officials at Texas A&M University (TAMU) in College Station have identified the freshman who was found dead at the on-campus Dunn Hall dormitory as Britney Romero of Baytown. TAMU Vice President of Student Affairs Brig. Gen. Joe E. Ramirez Jr. (Ret.) said in an Oct. 15 letter to students, faculty, and staff that Romero was a health major at the time of her death. Ramirez expressed his condolences to Romero's family and friends and assured them of the university's support during this difficult time.
