Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Kenneth Cusick as the new Galveston County Criminal District Attorney. Cusick will serve in this role until December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Kenneth Cusick is currently an assistant U.S. attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1990. Cusick is a member of the State Bar of Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Texas A&M University and earned his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law.
