Governor Greg Abbott has designated October 3-10, 2025, as Manufacturing Week in Texas. The announcement highlights the manufacturing sector's role in supporting innovation, economic growth, and job creation throughout the state.

“Thanks to our manufacturers, ‘Made in Texas’ has never been a more powerful brand,” Governor Abbott said. “It is a symbol of freedom, opportunity, and innovation that can only be found in Texas. As the manufacturing capital of the nation, Texas is where today’s products are made, and tomorrow’s technologies are brought to life. Manufacturing Week reminds us how important it is to continue strengthening our workforce by providing new career opportunities for Texans as we build a bigger and better Texas."

Texas' manufacturing industry significantly contributes to the state's economy, which now exceeds $2.7 trillion—making it the eighth largest globally. The state has recently recorded an economic growth rate of 6.8% during the second quarter of 2025 and continues its record-setting trend for job expansion.

Texas leads as the top exporting state for 23 consecutive years and remains at the forefront in exporting high-tech goods and semiconductors.

Last week, Governor Abbott attended an event celebrating Eli Lilly’s new active pharmaceutical ingredient production facility in Harris County, marking further growth in the state's pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.

Manufacturing Week also draws attention to employment opportunities across various industries including aerospace, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, automotive manufacturing, and others.
