Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next Governor’s Small Business Summit will take place in Pharr on August 7, 2025. The event is part of a series held throughout Texas to support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by providing access to resources and information necessary for starting and growing businesses.
“Small businesses are the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy,” said Governor Abbott. “With more than 3.3 million small businesses across Texas, employing nearly half of all working Texans, our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region. Together, we will ensure that our small business community continues to thrive as we build a stronger, more prosperous Texas.”
The summit in Pharr will bring together local, state, and federal partners to discuss important topics relevant to small businesses. Attendees will have opportunities to network with other business owners and hear from experts offering practical advice on a range of subjects.
The event is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Jose “Pepe” Salinas Memorial Recreation Center in Pharr. Panel sessions include discussions on collaboration for success, conversations with entrepreneurs about building businesses, and strategies for growth using state and local programs.
Sasha Levine, Executive Vice President of Levcor, will deliver the keynote address. Alberto Treviño, Commissioner Representing Labor at the Texas Workforce Commission, is also scheduled to speak.
Registration costs $20 and includes entry to all sessions, lunch, access to resource providers, and complimentary headshots. More details and registration can be found at gov.texas.gov/events.
Additional summits are planned for other locations across Texas later in the year. These include events in Big Lake on August 21; Eagle Pass on September 11; Carthage on September 25; Dalhart on October 9; Denton (with a focus on women) on October 23; and Belton (with a focus on veterans) on November 13.
The Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office and Office of Small Business Assistance also offer online webinars covering resources available for small businesses statewide. Recordings of past webinars are accessible at gov.texas.gov/business/page/small-business-webinars.
