Governor Abbott Appoints Four to Real Estate Research Advisory Committee

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Harry Gibbs to the Real Estate Research Advisory Committee for a term set to expire on January 31, 2025. Additionally, Governor Abbott appointed Kristi Davis and reappointed Troy Alley and Patrick Geddes for a term set to expire on January 31, 2029.

Harry Gibbs, of Georgetown, is an associate real estate broker with Keller Williams Lone Star. He is described as a board member of the Williamson County Central Appraisal District and a member of both the National and Texas Association of Realtors. Gibbs is also noted for his past service as president of the Georgetown Sunrise Rotary Club and chairman of the Georgetown Planning and Zoning Commission. Gibbs holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate and Urban Land Development from The University of Texas at Austin.

Kristi Davis, hailing from Carrollton, is a real estate broker and owner of Kristi Davis Realty with over two decades of experience in the industry. She is involved in various real estate associations and boards, including the Texas Realtors Association Board of Directors and the North Texas Real Estate Information Services Board of Directors. Davis also has a background in journalism, having obtained a Bachelor of Art in Journalism from the University of North Texas.

Troy Alley, based in De Soto, serves as the executive vice president of Con-Real Support Group, LP. He is recognized as a member of the Appraisal Institute with a MAI designation and is involved in various advisory boards and scholarship programs. Alley has academic qualifications including a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas, a Master of Business Administration in Real Estate from Southern Methodist University, and a certificate in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Patrick Geddes, a resident of Celina, is an attorney and senior counsel at Leeward Renewable Energy. He is affiliated with the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association, and has a background in government and law with degrees from The University of Texas at Austin and Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center.

The Real Estate Research Advisory Committee plays a crucial role in reviewing and approving proposals related to staffing and policies of the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University System. The committee also determines the priority ranking of research studies conducted by the center.
