Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud | Houston Texans

For the first six weeks of his rookie career, first-year Houston Texans signal-caller C.J. Stroud didn’t have an interception to his name. Then came the victory over the New Orleans Saints in which Zack Baun picked him off, and on Nov. 19 against the Arizona Cardinals, the 22-year-old Ohio State University product amassed an uncharacteristic three interceptions.

But to hear Stroud tell it, it’s all part of the game. The journey of Stroud's progression from college star to pro rookie takes place on a stage filled with highs and lows.

Despite the hiccups in his recent performance, having thrown for 336 passing yards and a pair of scores to down the Cardinals, according to Houston Daily, Stroud has no reason to dwell on the seemingly worst day in a football uniform as the Texans eked out a hard-fought 21-16 victory.

For the first time since at least 2018, Houston is enjoying a three-game winning streak, the publication reported.

In addition to their strong offensive showing,Houston Daily reported that after the Texans plunked down 21 points by halftime, it relied on its defense to secure the victory, their third straight since the thriller over Tampa Bay Buccaneers two weeks ago.

Defensive back Steven Nelson snuffed out Kyler Murray’s attempt at a go-ahead touchdown pass with not much left in game time according to Texans' X account.

Looking ahead, next for Houston is the second and final matchup against division-leading Jacksonville Jaguars home on Nov. 26.

A victory would help Texans’ case in claiming American Football Conference (AFC) South something they haven’t done since before start of COVID-19 pandemic.
