A local hip-hop luminary, a boy band that was once the apple of Generation X women’s eye and a country duo responsible for one of the most enduring line dance ditties ever heard are just among the slew of artists who comprise the rest of the 2023 RodeoHouston entertainment lineup.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) completed its two-part nightly concert reveal by announcing the entire slate on Thursday.
The 91st annual HLSR will be held at NRG Stadium from Tuesday, Feb. 28 to Sunday, March 19.
Houston Daily reported last month that country singers Parker McCollum and Cody Jinks, Christian music star Lauren Daigle and electronic dance music (EDM) duo The Chainsmokers were the first four acts announced for the Bayou City’s signature large-scale event.
According to a press release, the remaining 16 luminaries to appear on HLSR’s famous rotating star-shaped stage are Brooks & Dunn on Wednesday, March 1; Bun on Friday, March 3; Walker Hayes on Saturday, March 4; Zac Brown Band on Sunday, March 5; Jason Aldean on Monday, March 6; New Kids on The Block on Tuesday, March 7; Jon Pardo on Wednesday, March 8; Ashley McBryde on Thursday, March 9; Turnpike Troubadours on Saturday, March 11; La Fiera de Ojinaga on Sunday, March 12; Machine Gun Kelly on Tuesday, March 14; Kenny Chesney on Wednesday, March 15; Chris Stapleton on Thursday, March 16; Cody Johnson on Friday, March 17; Brad Paisley on Saturday, March 18; and Luke Bryan on Sunday, March 19.
The lineup keeps with the rodeo’s annual offering of different music genres.
“We are thrilled to welcome back so many talented artists including some fan favorites such as Houston rap legend, Bun B, who will be taking the stage alongside some additional iconic southern performers,” HLSR President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chris Boleman said in the release. “The level of talent we have in this lineup will get the fans excited, including Texas’ own Parker McCollum, who is helping us kick off this 2023 star lineup on opening day [Tuesday, Feb. 28].”
Daigle is slated to perform on Thursday, March 2; The Chainsmokers on Friday, March 10 and Jinks on Monday, March 13.
Event organizers said that tickets for these shows will go on sale at the HLSR website on Wednesday, but will be sold in two waves – 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. – for the first time ever.
The lowest ticket prices are $25 with a $4 convenience fee.
In 2021, more than 2.4 million people crossed the turnstiles, according to HLSR.
