Good Reason Houston has announced an exclusive media briefing on postsecondary research, scheduled for January 29. The announcement was made in a media advisory on January 15.
According to Good Reason Houston, the briefing will be led by Patrick Gill, Director of Research and Data Strategy, to present its latest research titled "Connecting K-12 Experiences to Workforce Success in Texas." This second phase of the research builds upon the first by examining how specific K-12 experiences impact postsecondary outcomes and workforce readiness. The event will offer reporters early access to findings, actionable insights, and an opportunity to engage directly with the research and data team.
The event will feature an overview of the latest findings and their implications for Houston’s education and workforce landscape. Interactive Q&A sessions with Gill and the research team are planned, along with media kits providing full access to the report, visuals, and key data points.
Phase 1 of the study updates postsecondary outcomes in the Houston region. It shows steady credential attainment overall but notes that non-economically disadvantaged graduates were more likely to earn credentials in 2017. College enrollment declined significantly after the COVID-19 pandemic, with fewer than half of bachelor's degree holders earning a living wage six years after high school.
