Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) brought Christmastime cheer to its patients on Friday, with some guests on respite from the nonstop hubbub at Santa’s Workshop on the North Pole lending a helping hand, according to Houston CBS affiliate KHOU

The station reported that the hospital was decorated with kid-themed Christmas trees to help kids who’ll be confined for the holidays.

TCH’s Facebook page said that the popular activities among the patients and their families was selecting their very own tree from the tree farm.

“There’s nothing like seeing the joy on our patients’ faces,” the post reads.

According to the hospital, its Volunteer Services and Child Life teams worked with J+J Flooring to have 215 trees donated for the occasion.

Per KHOU, one of the kids who gleefully picked out a tree – a Houston Astros-themed one – is a boy waiting for a heart transplant.

The child is such a fan of the incumbent World Series champions to the point his room is decorated in team gear, the station reported.

Another young patient chose a farm-themed tree as a nod to his family living on a farm, the report said.

KHOU reported that TCH has done its Christmas Tree Farm program for two years.

A few of Santa’s elves graced the event, according to the report.

The hospital said on Facebook St. Nick himself and Mrs. Claus paid the children – who all made the Nice List – a visit on Monday.

“A special thanks to Santa and Mrs. Claus for stopping by our hospital to say hello,” the post said.
