A western Galveston County town turned out for one of its own children on Saturday, a 4-year-old boy who is battling terminal cancer.

Houston FOX affiliate KRIV reported that the City of Santa Fe hosted a parade for Wylie Cino.

Doctors diagnosed Wylie with brain stem glioma earlier last month, and according to the boy’s mother, the tumor in his brain stem has pushed on his brain, KRIV reported.

KRIV reported that the tumor is inoperable and the child has weeks to live.

And that’s when Santa Fe resident Kiki Dugie decided to do something for Wylie and his family.

"This is our show of support for the family and for the community; when a child has a need as a community, we're coming out of the woodwork," Dugie told the station.

According to KRIV, Dugie planned the parade based on Wylie’s love for cars and trucks.

He made some calls, which resulted in more than 500 vehicles gathering at Santa Fe High School to line up for an event Nicole Cino said on a Facebook page created for her son will be remembered and cherished forever.

“It was very emotional at first just knowing that this will probably be his last parade, but I'll be okay,” Cino told KRIV.

Dugie said people from Galveston all the way to Montgomery County converged on Santa Fe to participate or attend the parade, the station reported.

Wylie’s mother urged parents to make time for their children.

"Love your children, forget fighting with them… hug them, spend the moments, get off your phones," she said, according to KRIV.

The Cino family created a GoFundMe page in an effort to raise $50,000 for medical and funeral expenses.

As of Tuesday, 298 donations were totaling $26,389.
