The city of Galveston has appointed Csilla Ludanyi as its new chief financial officer (CFO), succeeding the retired Mike Loftin. Ludanyi officially assumed the position on October 1st after working alongside Loftin for much of the year. Texas Department of Transportation observes National Pedestrian Safety Month

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is observing National Pedestrian Safety Month throughout October by reminding motorists statewide that pedestrians are the most vulnerable on the roads and streets. TxDOT Executive Director Marc Williams emphasized the need for both drivers and pedestrians to adapt and help keep the roads safe. Port of Galveston receives $42.3 million for key projects

On September 28th, the Texas Transportation Commission approved $42.3 million for the Port of Galveston to use on various projects aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing safety. The funding will be used for a major cargo infrastructure project, as well as restoration efforts on a section of the port's interior roadway and an enclosed pedestrian walkway over Harborside Drive.
