Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Wynn Rosser, Ph.D., to the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), with a term ending on June 30, 2029. The SREB is an interstate compact created in 1948 by southern governors and legislators to support improvements in public education from early childhood through doctoral studies.
Rosser currently serves as Commissioner of Higher Education and chief executive officer at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. He is affiliated with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and the State Higher Education Executive Officer Association. His academic background includes an associate degree from Kilgore College, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Development, a Master of Science in Agriculture Education, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University. He also holds an Emergency Medical Technician Certificate from the School of EMS in Tyler.
