Governor Greg Abbott has appointed four new members to the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) Board of Trustees. Bryan Langley and Isaac Tawil will serve terms expiring on February 1, 2031, while Jaime Reyes, II and Pamela Williams will serve until February 1, 2027. The TMRS Board is responsible for overseeing the retirement benefit plan for eligible employees in more than 800 cities across Texas.
Bryan Langley, from Kyle, currently serves as the city manager of Kyle. He is a member of both the Texas City Management Association and the International City/County Management Association. Langley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Texas, as well as a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Isaac Tawil, of McAllen, is the city manager for McAllen and a member of the State Bar of Texas. Tawil earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University.
Jaime Reyes, II, from Melissa, is the assistant fire chief for the City of Plano. He is affiliated with several professional organizations including the Plano Firefighters Association, the Texas State Association of Firefighters, the Texas Fire Chiefs Association, and the International Association of Fire Chiefs. Reyes obtained a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Administration/Emergency Management from Sam Houston State University.
Pamela Williams, based in Hawley, is the director of human resources for the City of Abilene. She is involved with the Texas Municipal Human Resource Association, International City/County Management Association, Society for Human Resource Management, and serves on the board of directors for United Way. Williams received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science from Abilene Christian University.
The appointments are intended to support the continued oversight and administration of retirement benefits for municipal employees throughout Texas.
