Governor Abbott schedules special election for Texas Senate District 4

Governor Greg Abbott has announced that a special election will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, to fill the Texas Senate District 4 seat. The seat was recently vacated by Senator Brandon Creighton.

Individuals interested in running for the position must submit their applications to the Secretary of State by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Early voting for this election is scheduled to start on Monday, April 20, 2026.
