On May 21, 2024, U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) announced that Christian Araiza from Brazos County is the winner of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for Texas' 10th Congressional District. Christian, a 12th-grade student, titled his artwork “Eve's Embrace.”

"Congratulations to Christian, the winner of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for Texas' 10th Congressional District," said Rep. McCaul. "I want to applaud the runners-up for their incredible art pieces. I am in awe of my district’s many talented young artists with promising futures, and I look forward to welcoming Christian's artwork to the Capitol."

The Congressional Art Competition aims to recognize and encourage artistic talent in high school-aged students across the country. The winning selection will be displayed for one year in the United States Capitol alongside artwork from students nationwide. Additionally, first-place winners and one guest receive round-trip tickets to attend the National Reception in Washington, D.C., in June.
