U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) has opened the application process for students in Texas’ 10th district who are interested in receiving a congressional nomination to a United States Service Academy. Congressman McCaul can nominate up to 10 candidates from his district annually for consideration at the United States Air Force, Merchant Marine, Military, and Naval Academies.

"I am honored to nominate distinguished young men and women in Texas' 10th Congressional District to the United States service academies," said Rep. McCaul. "I applaud their dedication to our country as they apply for one of these prestigious universities and look forward to their bright futures."

Applicants must meet the minimum admissions standards set by each individual service academy, with factors such as SAT/ACT scores, class rank, physical aptitude scores, extracurricular activities, athletic abilities, medical examinations, and a panel interview being taken into consideration for admission.

The application process is currently open from April 29, 2024, until September 20, 2024. Those interested in applying or seeking more information can visit the congressman’s Frequently Asked Questions page for Service Academy Nominations or contact the academy nominations coordinator, Destinee Vargas, at destinee.vargas@mail.house.gov or (979) 431-6480.
