The HISD Teacher Recruitment and Selection Team is gearing up to host a Campus Hiring Event on May 4th, giving K-12 educators the opportunity to learn about the work underway at Team HISD. The event will take place at two locations: Delmar Fieldhouse for non-NES positions and Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center for NES positions.

According to the announcement, starting teacher salaries vary depending on the school level and designation. For non-NES schools, the starting salary is $64,000, while NES schools offer higher salaries, ranging from $75,435 for elementary schools to $82,816 for high schools. Special education teachers can expect a salary of $80,000 at non-NES schools and $86,000 at NES schools. Additionally, there is a bilingual stipend of $5,000 available.

The event is open to various position types, including teachers, assistant principals, counselors, librarians, nurses, office support staff, teacher assistants, teacher apprentices, and learning coaches. Interested individuals are encouraged to register for the May 4th Campus Hiring Events online.

Applicants, both external and internal, are reminded of the eligibility requirements outlined by HISD. External applicants are advised to complete the online application and necessary steps before the event to avoid any delays in the hiring process. Internal HISD applicants are informed that the Transfer Period closes on April 26, 2024, and certain current district employees are not eligible to attend the event.

Once registered, candidates will receive final event details via email after 3 p.m. on Friday, May 3rd. This opportunity presents a chance for educators to join Team HISD and contribute to the student-centered work being done in the district.
