The Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts School of Theatre & Dance at the University of Houston (UH) has announced its forthcoming dance night, "UH Goes to the MATCH." The performance is scheduled for March 3.

According to a press release from UH, the upcoming event will feature a showcase of dance performances by students and faculty from the UH School of Theatre & Dance. This event serves as a preview of their participation in the American College Dance Association South-Central conference.

The press release also mentioned that the evening will present a variety of performances reflecting diverse styles and themes. These performances aim to display the talent within the UH School of Theatre & Dance community as they prepare for the conference. The goal of this event is to engage audiences with its choreography and themes.

Notable performances, as stated in the release, include Zuri Humphrey's "Modern Day Machine," which explores industrialism's impact; Allé Holloway's "Retired Workaholic," an examination of societal pressures; and Travis Prokop's "Ball Moderne," a celebration of Underground Ballroom Culture and House music. The event will provide viewers with an opportunity to observe both technical skills and artistic creativity demonstrated by the UH Dance Department.

The press release further informs that "UH Goes to the MATCH" is presented by UH's Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts School of Theatre & Dance. The event will take place on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 7:30 p.m., located at MATCH (3400 Main Street, Houston TX, 77002).
