Success On The Spectrum, a leading Autism Treatment franchise, is preparing for its sixth annual Autism Carnival in Houston on Oct. 21. The event, taking place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 8181 Commerce Park Dr #726, is dedicated to providing an inclusive atmosphere for children with autism and their families.

"I'm really proud of our community for coming together for our children," Success On The Spectrum founder Nichole Daher told Houston Daily in an interview about the event.

This year’s Autism Carnival will offer kid-friendly music, a calming station for children, and a variety of free games and activities for all children. Food trucks will also be available, according to the event page.

According to Daher, the primary goal of this annual gathering is to offer a judgment-free space where children with autism can feel accepted. Parents often encounter challenges and misconceptions in public, making events like these vital for fostering confidence in autistic children. The Carnival also serves as a platform to raise awareness about autism, promote inclusivity, and encourage community support.

Over the years, the event has experienced significant growth, with attendee numbers increasing from 600 in 2019 to 1,800 in 2022, according to Daher. To ensure a comfortable experience for all, the organizers have expanded the event's layout and introduced more activities. The support from volunteers, local businesses, and the community has also surged. Nursing students from Sam Houston contribute their time, and various businesses provide attractions such as bouncy houses, popcorn machines, and cotton candy stands. In addition, CausePlay sends actors dressed as superheroes and cartoon characters to interact with the children.

Success On The Spectrum was founded by Daher in 2015. Since being franchised in 2018, the organization has grown to include over 33 locations in 11 states, becoming the first Applied behavior analysis (ABA) franchise in the country, according to Daher.
