The Brays Oaks Management District Beautification and Urban Design Committee held a meeting via Zoom video conference on July 06, 2023, at 1:30 PM.
District Board and Committee members present: Cindy Chapman, Ralph Rieger, Marsha Fisk Staff members present: Xavier Herrera, Cosme Garcia
Public present: Erin Lewandowski – Price Wagener, Sonia Chavez – SMC Logistics, Evan Rodriguez – SMC Logistics, Stephen Polnaszek, Brenda Jackson, Sylvester Reeder III – Houston One Voice, Naomi Ostfeld, Marcy Williams, Barbara Hite, Amy Cummins, Bill Burhans – WWGC, Naomi Ostfeld, Lauren Nemeth, Gerda Gomez, Daphine Priscilla Jack
Committee Chair Cindy Chapman called the meeting to order at 1:32 PM, and the committee meeting adjourned at 2:08 PM.

a. No public comments were made.
3. Minutes of 07/08/23 B&UD Committee Meeting
a. Committee meeting minutes were submitted for reference and review.
4. Receive a report on landscaping and porter services from Price Wagener and SMC Logistics for the month of June, and proposals for recommendation to BOMD Board for consideration.
a. Landscaping - Price Wagener
i. Ms. Lewandowski presented the report for Price Wagener for the month of June. Full report available in committee packet. Additionally, a proposal for irrigation repairs was presented to the committee.
ii. Replanting is mostly complete. The plan is to match oleanders in areas where they are still doing well and to use viburnum in areas where oleanders are not doing well. With the heat – it’s recommended to continue the new planting in late September or early October.
b. Porter Services - SMC Logistics
i. Ms. Chavez presented the report for SMC Logistics for the month of June. Full report available in committee packet.
ii. Mr. Burhans alerted SMC of tires near Gasmer. Ms. Chavez advised that tire disposal is an additional cost. She will discuss the issue further with Executive Director Herrera. Committee Chair Chapman inquired into the cost of tire disposal. Ms. Chavez advised the cost can be as much as $15 per tire.
5. Field Service Operator Report
a. Mr. Rodriguez presented the FSO report which is available in the committee packet. Committee Chair Chapman inquired into who is picking up trash from ditches if 311 is advising they will not remove trash from ditches. Additionally, she asked the FSO to monitor the area near Heights at Post Oak Apt. complex. Ms. Hite advised to send any photos of trash to the District K office. They will review to determine if the HOT team can pick up the garbage.
6. Receive update from Houston Planning & Development Department regarding the Braeburn Neighborhood Resilience Study
a. Mr. Polnaszek gave a brief update and discussed the tour his group went on. The project focuses on a broad range of infrastructure and resiliency challenges.
7. Discussion, Updates and Recommendations
a. Parks & Facilities in BOMD
i. No updates.
b. Willow Waterhole Greenway Conservancy
i. Mr. Burhans reported the gates at Willow Waterhole will be closed on New Year's Eve and July 4th. Additionally, the group will have a trash pickup. Mr. Burhans also gave an update on trail construction.
