De La Cruz introduces resolution condemning attack on border patrol facility

Today, Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives denouncing an attack that occurred on July 7th at the Border Patrol annex facility in McAllen, Texas. The resolution addresses violence against law enforcement and first responders.

"My heart is with Border Patrol agents and police officers following the attack on the McAllen Border Patrol annex facility. This resolution stands as a reminder that violence against law enforcement and first responders will never be tolerated. I am proud to lead this effort in honor of the brave men and women who put themselves in harms way and save lives," stated Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz.

The resolution has gained support from 41 original co-sponsors, including Reps. On July 7th, an active shooter opened fire at the McAllen Border Patrol annex facility, resulting in three injuries. Among those injured was Officer Ismael Garcia of the McAllen Police Department, who suffered a knee injury during the incident. Congresswoman De La Cruz visited Officer Garcia last week during his recovery.
