Girl Boss Suites to celebrate women entrepreneurs at inaugural Girl Boss Awards

Girl Boss Suites co-working space will recognize the achievements of Houston's accomplished women in business during its inaugural Girl Boss Awards on Sept. 2 at The Post Oak Hilton. The awards, designed to commend the city's dedicated female entrepreneurs, will underscore the role of women in Houston's business landscape.

“We are elated to curate this award show to inspire, encourage, motivate, and celebrate women in Houston that have made an impact in their fields,” said Tiara LaRae, co-owner of Girl Boss Suites, in a press release. “The night will be memorable and filled with surprises.” 

Houston residents were able to participate in the nomination process which opened in the beginning of the summer, allowing them to vote for the women they believe deserve acknowledgment. 

The window for voting concluded in early August, and the chosen honorees will be honored at the Sept. 2 event, which will feature a red-carpet experience. 

Beyond the selection process by their peers, the Girl Boss Awards' organizers have designated special recognition for several of Houston's women who have made significant achievements in their respective domains. Among these honorees are Twiler Portis, for her success in marketing, business coaching and philanthropy. Additionally, the mother/daughter boutique owners, authors and mentors Martha E. of IMarE Boutique and Iceland Robinson of The Icee Collection, have also been acknowledged for their accomplishments.

According to the press release, Girl Boss Suites operates as a co-working space tailored to contemporary female entrepreneurs. The platform integrates workspace, co-working facilities, and a focus on empowering women. Its services extend beyond co-working, encompassing resource provisions and an online community dedicated to women in business. The company's ambition extends to a global outreach, aiming to support female business proprietors worldwide. A milestone was achieved on National Women's Day in 2023 when Girl Boss Suites orchestrated an unprecedented Rally at Houston City Hall, dedicated to recognizing female entrepreneurs from Houston.
