A League City man and his family have appealed for assistance in the search for his 22-year-old nephew, according to a report from Houston CBS affiliate KHOU.
Tanner Hoang is a Texas A & M University (TAMU) student who supposedly disappeared before meeting family members visiting College Station for a commencement ceremony for lunch.
"We want him back, we want him back home with us," his uncle, Tuan Hoang, said, KHOU reported. “He is a fun-loving, [kind of] quiet but personable young man and very humble. Any parent would love someone like Tanner to be their son."
KHOU reported that the College Station Police Department (CSPD) said Tanner Hoang, who hails from the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex, was last seen on Friday on Colgate Drive near Highway 6 and Wolf Pen Creek Park.
Investigators said he probably left the area in a silver-colored vehicle.
Tuan Hoang told the station that the younger Hoang was supposed to graduate but was a few credits short of obtaining his mechanical engineering degree.
Dallas-Fort Worth FOX affiliate KDFW reported that Tanner Hoang was purportedly last seen at a Shell gas station filling up his silver 2009 Lexus ES350 with Texas license plate BS2C737.
According to KDFW, his family has seen a video of the Lexus traveling west on Highway 21 near College Station.
NBC News reported that the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is assisting College Station police with the investigation into Tanner Hoang’s disappearance.
Per the Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley, he’s described as 6 foot and 175 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
The nonprofit organization strongly advises anyone with information on his whereabouts to call CSPD at (979) 764-3600.
