Grammy Award-winning pop and R&B singer Janet Jackson has included the Houston area on the itinerary for her “Together Again” Tour, per reports from Houston-based media outlets.
Houston FOX affiliate KRIV reported that Jackson’s ninth concert tour, which takes its name from the title of her 1993 hit single, is slated for 2023 and is produced by Live Nation.
“Really can’t wait to see [you] guys,” the 56-year-old Jackson said in a tweet promoting the tour.
KRIV reported that Jackson will perform at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands on June 3, 2023, after a show in Dallas the day before.
The Moody Center in Austin will be her third and final Texas stop on the tour.
She enlisted Atlanta rapper Ludacris to be her special guest on certain dates, according to the station.
CultureMap Houston reported that the tour will visit 33 cities throughout North America, with the finale to be held in Seattle on June 21, 2023.
Per the website, Jackson last performed in the Bayou City in 2017 as part of the tour promoting her “Unbreakable” album.
Proceeds from the show went toward Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, and the singer and Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner met with evacuees at the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB) beforehand.
According to CultureMap, the “Together Again” Tour will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the start of Jackson’s career.
She got her start performing alongside her siblings in The Jackson 5 before becoming a chart-topping solo artist in her own right.
Fans can purchase tickets beginning Friday at 11 a.m. at LiveNation.com, CultureMap reported.
