The Houston Auto Show and the Houston Boat Show have combined into one event.

Attendees to both shows – scheduled for Jan. 26-30, 2022 – can enter NRG Center with just one ticket, according to a press release published on the website PRWeb.

The adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the auto and boat industries have prompted the two Houston shows to merge.

“New cars are in high demand thanks to the launch of new models, new technology and never before seen supply chain issues,” Houston Auto Show President Wyatt Wainwright said in the release. “Combining with the Houston Boat Show creates an outstanding first-time event that can be enjoyed by all for one low price.”

The auto show will feature new 2022-2023 vehicle models and test drive opportunities, while the boat show will include over 200 vendors who will showcase the latest in boating and outdoor sports technology and trends, the release said.

“Since the pandemic began, we have seen more and more desire for the outdoor lifestyle,” Houston Boat Show President Kenneth Lovell said. “Boating is certainly a community and social sport that is in high demand.”

Lovell encourages those who’ve recently joined the boating community or just want to learn more to attend the new two-for-one event.

Delayed by the pandemic, the Houston Auto Show, which is organized by the Houston Automobile Dealers Association and usually held in January, returned to NRG Center in May billed as the Summer Auto Show, with an RV and boat display to boot.

Eleven-year-old Usife Saleh told the Houston Chronicle at the time that attending the auto show has become a tradition in his family, even after the passing of his uncle.

“We still come every year because we love cars,” the boy said, the publication reported.

According to CW39, tickets to both shows cost $15, with children under five free.
