Jeffrey Boney has secured reelection to the Missouri City Council District B seat this week.

Boney said that his vision for a progressive Missouri City had appealed to many voters.

"Clearly my vision for a progressive Missouri City resonated with the voters,” he said. “I'm happy that nearly 80% of the residents in District B who voted made the right decision. They wanted to continue to put Missouri City first and move Missouri City forward."

Unofficial election results show that Boney garnered 78% of the vote, easily rebuffing the challenge issued by Everett Land, who received 21% of the vote, according to Community Impact Newspaper.

Boney, is a business development consultant/media professional and a former bank executive, who has served on city council since 2017, according to the news organization.

Boney took to Twitter to thank supporters who had come out and voted for him.

“Hello all, we did it again!!! I am extremely humbled to receive the overwhelming show of support from Missouri City-District B voters, as they overwhelmingly chose to re-elect me to continue helping us move Missouri City forward. Thank you and God Bless! #MissouriCityFirst,” he wrote.

The city website states that he is a married father of three who has called the city home since 2000 and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Southern University and an honorary doctorate in organizational leadership from Juliana King University.

Boney had received an endorsement from the Houston Association of Realtors and thanked them for their “continued belief and trust in my leadership as a member of the Missouri City Council.”

He added that there were 45,000 realtors strong and it was an honor to receive their support.

“There are so many exciting things on the horizon for our great city and as I begin my third term, I plan to see those things to fruition, while continuing to be a strong voice for the residents of Missouri City,” Boney told the Forward Times.
