On Nov. 1, the Houston Rockets unveiled their new city edition jerseys that they'll wear at certain games during the 2021-2022 season.
According to an NBA press release, the jersey is being released to commemorate the league’s 75th anniversary season and will pay tribute to the Clutch City era, the early years of Yao Ming's and Steve Francis's careers and the 22-game winning streak in the 2007-2008 season.
The jersey uses the pinstripe look the team donned in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with the the angled “Houston” wording from the road jerseys worn during the Hakeem Olajuwon's heyday running across the chest.
"Our new Nike NBA City Edition uniform is a great way to pay tribute to all of the amazing players and epic moments our fans have witnessed and been a part of throughout our 55 seasons as a franchise," Rockets Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer Julian Duncan said in the press release. "We hope Rockets fans around the world will enjoy watching our exciting young players create new memories while celebrating our historic past throughout the NBA’s 75th anniversary season."

"The Houston Rockets have achieved a lot on the court, but they’ve accomplished just as much to expand the game off the court," Aaron Cain, VP/GM, Men’s, at NIKE, Inc said, according to the press release. "The Nike NBA City Edition Uniforms were designed to honor those distinctly ‘H-Town’ achievements and styles — all with the heart of a champion."
