In the spirit of Halloween and the Houston Astros' World Series run, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo competed in the Houston Half Marathon & 10K dressed as an American League Championship Series-winning Astros player.
"Ran this morning's @houhalf half-marathon dressed as an ALCS-winning Astro. Have a great #halloween2021 Harris County," Hidalgo said in a tweet.
The event, which is under the auspices of the Houston Striders, was held on Oct. 31. The morning before the Astros grabbed their memorable win, they celebrated Halloween by turning their hotel into a Halloween party.
"For the kids obviously it's a little bit different when you're in the baseball world and you're in the World Series so you don't get to go around the neighborhood. They got to go around to our rooms and trick or treat for a little bit. Daniella let me wear my Freddy Krueger mask. And Emily Greinke – (Zack) Greinke's wife – texted us later and said she wanted me to scare the kids, so she brought the kids over and I wore my mask and I gave them a good scare," Correa said before the game.
"You have to wear this outfit for every game now. That's how sports superstition works. I don't make the rules," Dylan Osborne tweeted in response to Hidalgo.
At the time of the marathon, the Astros were facing staring a 3-1 hole in the Fall Classic after the Atlanta Braves won Game 4 the night before.
