Jersey Village Football coach David Snokhous has led the Falcons to a 3-0 start for the season.

Snokhous has coached football at Jersey Village for the past 25 years and was recently named Coach of the Week by Click 2 Houston.

The perfect start to the season is a good omen. The last time the Falcons started the season 3-0 was in 2018 when they also went on to win district undefeated, according to Houston Chronicle.

"I’m proud of their effort and work ethic, not just theirs, but the coaches also," Snokhous told Houston Chronicle. "I mean, it’s been a long haul. We got to keep working hard and get ready to go play Memorial. That’s one at a time for us."

Last Year, Jersey Village went 6-6 overall with a 4-3 district campaign, placing fourth in the standings.

"That’s the 2020 team, this is the 2021 team," Snokhous told Houston Chronicle. "If we don’t work hard and get better every day then we’re not going to be as good as they were."

Snokhous said that the main key for success is for the Falcons to stick together in all aspects of the game.

"A lot can be said about that. We fought back and did what good football teams do," Snokhous said. "There was no panic or pointing fingers or anything like that."

The Falcons are aiming to play in the playoffs on Christmas week.

“These kids have worked hard just about every day,” he said. "They understand what it takes to get to the next level and what it means to compete every day because our district is tough.”

Having coached at Jersey Village since the Clinton administration, Snorkhous owns the distinction of being the longest actively tenured head coach in Cy Fair Independent School District football.
