Houston Ballet and its orchestra will once again schedule live performances after a year of shutdowns amid the pandemic.

The show will feature dance, music, films and other art displays from the past year.

The event will be held on Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8, beginning at 8 p.m. on both nights at the Miller Outdoor Theatre, Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Hermann Park Dr., Houston. Its entry will be free of cost for participants of all ages.

Its corresponding theater stands on 7.5 acres of land in Hermann Park, neighboring the Houston Zoo, the Garden Center and the Museum of Natural Science. The establishment fits approximately 1,705 people, plus 20 wheelchair slots and a lawn that fits over 4,000 blankets and chairs.

The Houston Ballet was created to express values of inclusion, diversity and love while also displaying creativity and education to the community through its choreography. The organization welcomes students, artists and staff with other roles of all culture and races.

"We recognize our responsibility to be an open, welcoming and anti-racist organization where students, artists, staff, trustees and volunteers of all backgrounds collaboratively learn, work and serve," The Houston Ballet wrote. "Inclusion, diversity, equity and access are instrumental in the fulfillment of our mission and values. We address the challenges of our future in a culture that honors what is unique in all of us."
