Puppies For Breakfast is scheduled to return as an in-person event following two suspensions in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The morning dog festival will be held on Saturday, May 8 at East River, 4100 Clinton from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event is free of charge, though a donation submission of a minimum of $5 is encouraged to help with local dog rescue. More than 40 dog-related vendors will be present, as well as vendors from other industries. Breakfast will be served by local food trucks, while an all-new Vodka lounge, hosted by Frankly Organic Vodka, will give three free drinks to attendees over 21 years old.
The festival, created by Hector Garcia with Neue Creative and Modular Dog, offers Texan resident’s furry friends to play with their peers in an open space designed for them. It is sponsored by OSO Coffee Co, Sit Means Sit Dog Training, Camp Bow Wow, Rummy’s Beach Club, Natural Pawz, and Meadowlake Pet Resort.
This year marks Puppies For Breakfast’s 10th year of making a presence in the area. This year’s venue will be located along the bayou and Jensen Drive, measuring 40,000 square feet. It will feature creatives, music by DJ Dayta, a pinata, food and a 2,500-square-foot dog play area for pets.
