University of Houston develops new treatments for flu and coronaviruses

A team of researchers led by the University of Houston has discovered two new methods for preventing and treating respiratory viruses. In back-to-back papers in Nature Communications, the team from Navin Varadarajan's lab, M.D. Anderson Professor of William A. Brookshire Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, reports the development and validation of NanoSTING, a nasal spray that acts as a broad-spectrum immune activator against multiple respiratory viruses, and NanoSTING-SN, a pan-coronavirus nasal vaccine.
University of Houston's Moores Opera Center announces its upcoming opera season

HISD holds inaugural Civic Ambassador Training for high school students

At the end of July, high school students throughout the District came together for the first annual HISD Civic Ambassador Training. The brainchild of HISD’s Community Partnerships Department, the training offered students an opportunity to become their schools’ “Civic Ambassadors.” Over the three-day intensive program held at the University of Houston’s Downtown campus, students learned about the power of their votes, the importance of local elections, and the value of collaborating with their peers for the benefit of their community.
Luttrell leads bipartisan push for MDMA-assisted therapy approval

The letter, co-led by Reps.
