Governor Abbott reappoints two members to business advisory council

Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Aaron Negherbon and Patricia Rigney to the Business Advisory Council of the Texas Division of Emergency Management. Their terms will expire on February 1, 2029. The council offers guidance to state and local governments on how to support businesses in disaster recovery.

Aaron Negherbon, based in McKinney, serves as CEO of Troops Direct and Cops Direct. He is also a board member of the Stonebridge Ranch Country Club Charity Classic. Negherbon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.

Patricia Rigney from Edinburg is an attorney and owner of Rigney Law Firm. She currently acts as city attorney for Mission. With nearly two decades in law practice, her previous roles include staff attorney for the 13th Court of Appeals, assistant United States attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, and city attorney for Pharr. Rigney is vice president of the Texas City Attorneys Association-Rio Grande Valley Chapter, District 12E chair of the State Bar of Texas Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, and a member of both The Edinburg Public Library Advisory Board and CASA-RGV Board of Directors. She previously served on the Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association committee. Rigney earned a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas Pan American and a Juris Doctor from UT School of Law.
