Marco Rubio confirmed as new U.S. Secretary of State

U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul has extended his congratulations to Marco Rubio on his confirmation as the 72nd Secretary of State by the U.S. Senate. McCaul, who is the chairman emeritus of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, expressed confidence in Rubio's ability to handle the role during challenging times.

McCaul stated, "Congratulations to our 72nd Secretary of State, Marco Rubio! With the world on fire, this role will be more crucial than ever, and I am confident Rubio will re-establish the deterrence needed to prevent more war." He highlighted that both he and Rubio are sanctioned by the Chinese Communist Party, describing it as a "badge of honor" that indicates their resilience against threats from adversaries.

The congressman also emphasized his anticipation of collaborating with Rubio to counter China's influence through legislation aimed at strengthening AUKUS, a defense security pact involving the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. McCaul remarked that with Rubio leading the State Department, "the days of America exhibiting weakness and appeasing our adversaries — including China — are over."
