Houston Independent School District (HISD) has announced the participation process for private non-profit schools interested in federal grant programs for the 2025-2026 school year. The district encourages administrators from these institutions to reach out if they wish to engage in the ESSA federal grant programs.

The grants aim to provide equitable services that support students, families, educators, and school personnel. These services are intended to enhance existing opportunities and promote academic success. They may include instructional services, materials, counseling, parent and family engagement opportunities, professional development, and field lessons.

Administrators must complete and submit the "Intent to Participate Form" by February 14, 2025. Various forms are available online for different grant categories such as Title I Part A (Supporting Basic Programs), Title II Part A (Supporting Effective Instruction), Title IV Part A (Student Support and Academic Enrichment), Title I Part C (Education of Migratory Children), and Title III Part A – ELA and IMM (English Language Acquisition and Immigrant).
