The University of Houston’s School of Theatre & Dance is set to present "Safe at Home," a theatrical production by Gabriel Greene and Alex Levy, this November. The performance will take place at Schroeder Park, the university's baseball stadium, supported by the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts.

"Safe at Home" is an immersive 90-minute play that explores U.S. immigration policies, racial politics, and media influence on personal ethics. The narrative unfolds during Game 7 of the World Series, providing insight into these complex topics while challenging societal views.

Director Jack Reuler highlighted the innovative approach of site-specific immersive theater: “Site-specific immersive theater has long been a passion of mine, as it allows the audience to be both voyeur and participant.” He explained that unlike traditional plays where audiences remain stationary, in "Safe at Home," audiences move through nine scenes across different locations.

Melissa Noble from the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration: “The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts is thrilled to welcome Jack Reuler as a visiting artist and to support this unique production.”

Performances are scheduled for November 7-10 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $20 for the general public and $15 for staff, faculty, alumni, seniors, and students. For more information or ticket purchases, contact the KGMCA Box Office or visit their website.
