Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) praised the passage of the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) from the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. This legislation aims to support and protect critical water resources and infrastructure across the United States and Texas.

“I am glad to see this bill pass out of committee to provide critical support for Texas’ ports and communities,” said Rep. McCaul. “In recent weeks, the Houston region has faced deadly storms, damaging critical infrastructure, homes, and businesses. WRDA provides resources to assist with storm preparedness and flood resiliency in Texas. Houston is home to one of the largest ports in the country, and this vital piece of legislation will bolster our supply chain, create jobs across the state, and allow Texas to continue feeding and fueling the nation.”
