Over 2,400 attendees, half of whom were experiencing the museum for the first time, gathered at the Children’s Museum of Houston (CMH) for HISD Day at the Children’s Museum on Feb. 19. Natalia Regan, Director of Sales and Marketing for CMH, expressed her delight at the event, stating, “It was impressive to see Houston’s diversity in action, coming together to play and learn at CMH. We were happy to have the chance to collaborate with [HISD] and make this magical day happen for HISD families.”

The event was a joint effort by HISD’s Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Department and CMH, aiming to provide families with a day of bonding, exploration, and learning. Families had the opportunity to immerse themselves in interactive exhibits and engaging activities, including the EcoStation, Newton Know-How, and Kidtropolis, USA. These exhibits offered a range of learning experiences for children of all ages.

HISD FACE is dedicated to fostering relationships with families, businesses, and organizations throughout Houston to support students both inside and outside the classroom. Initiatives like parent-teacher organizations and community-wide events like HISD Day at the Children’s Museum are part of their efforts to engage families and connect them with district resources.

The success of HISD Day at the Children’s Museum highlights the commitment of HISD FACE to providing unique and enriching experiences for families in the community.
