Houston Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud’s National Football League (NFL) career may have just begun, but he already made the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. The Texans contributed the Deep Steel Blue jersey Stroud, the second overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, wore when he set a new rookie passing yards record in the team’s 39-37 Week 9 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s "Pro Football Today Gallery."

A press release issued by the Pro Football Hall of Fame reveals that the former Ohio State University star threw for 470 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions on 30-of-42 passing against Tampa Bay at NRG Stadium on Nov. 5. This yardage surpassed the previous record set by Marc Bulger who threw for 453 yards during the 2002 season. The same release recognized Stroud and Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford as being the only rookie signal-callers in NFL history with at least 400 passing yards and five touchdown passes in a game.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame indicates that Stroud also holds a record for having played a number of games without throwing an interception. The Californian native became earlier this season, according to them, first quarterback to not throw an interception in his first five career starts. This achievement helped him surpass Dallas Cowboys field general Dak Prescott’s record from 2016 where he had managed to achieve 176 attempts without an interception with Stroud's own impressive feat: totaling up to 186 pass attempts without any interception.

According to yet another update from The Pro Football Hall of Fame's press release, they have featured since Oct. 23rd.,the game-used ball from Texans’ Week 5 matchup . For their next scheduled event, on Nov.19th., The Texans will play against Arizona Cardinals at their home stadium.
