Houston Dynamo FC has secured a spot in the Audi 2023 Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup Playoffs, marking their first postseason appearance in five years. This achievement comes under the leadership of first-year head coach Ben Olsen.

In a post on October 5th, the team expressed their unity and fearlessness, stating, "United by our differences we embrace the heat around us. Somos (we are) fearless."

The Dynamo's playoff berth follows their 1-1 draw against CF Montreal on October 4th and their recent victory over Inter Miami CF in the U.S. Cup. According to a press release, the team is now preparing for their final two matches of the season.

ESPN reported that Artur scored the lone goal for Houston in the hard-fought match against Montreal, while Lassi Lappalainen's goal prevented Montreal from suffering a loss.

Currently sitting in sixth place in the Western Conference standings, the Dynamo are aiming to secure home-field advantage in at least the first round of the postseason. Their tagline for the playoffs is "Somos fearless."

Houston previously won the MLS Cup in 2006 and 2007, shortly after their relocation from San Jose, California to the Bayou City.

The Dynamo's return to the MLS postseason is a significant milestone for the team and their fans, who have been eagerly awaiting a playoff appearance after a five-year drought. Under the guidance of coach Ben Olsen, the team has shown resilience and determination, earning their spot among the league's top contenders. As they gear up for their final two matches, the Dynamo will look to build on their recent success and make a strong playoff run.
