Houston Texans fans this season may find themselves not having to spend much at concession stands as the team and Aramark have partnered to launch Fan First Deals, according to a press release from the National Football League (NFL) franchise.

As part of Fan First Deals, the release said, the Texans and Aramark are lowering the prices of the most-ordered concessions items for all games at NRG Stadium during the 2022 campaign.

Team president Greg Grissom said in the release that ongoing inflation factored into the price decreases.

"We're excited to unveil an innovative approach to concessions pricing this season," Grissom said. "In a world of increasing costs, we chose to decrease the price of select items on game day. Based on conversations with our fans and insights from our analytics team, we identified the four most-ordered items and adjusted their pricing."

According to the Texans, Fan First Deals applies toward the following items: All beef hot dog, crispy chicken tender basket, 20-ounce Coca-Cola cup soda and 16-ounce domestic beer.

The initiative offers a total average of a 20% price decrease, the release said.

The Texans, who enter their 20th season with new head coach Lovie Smith, added that fans will continue to be able to purchase $2 12-ounce water, $5 12-ounce domestic draft beer and $2.50 12-ounce domestic beer outside the stadium as part of Fan First Deals.

After two consecutive seasons in which the Texans struggled toward four wins amid the pall of now-former quarterback Deshaun Watson’s trade demands and legal problems, the team looks to take advantage of a clean slate with Smith patrolling the sidelines and second-year field general Davis Mills entrusted with the keys to the offense.

The team gets to give fans a glimpse of what could transpire in Smith’s first year in a preseason Week 1 matchup against the New Orleans Saints at NRG on Saturday at 7 p.m.
