Houston-based petroleum company Motiva Enterprises has named Jeff Rinker the company's new president and chief executive officer (CEO), according to a press release.
Motiva said that Rinker will helm the company, a fully-owned affiliate of Saudi Aramco, effective July 1, succeeding incumbent Brian Coffman.
Motiva Board of Directors Chair Mohammed Y. Al Qahtani said in the release that Rinker is the "right leader" to continue Coffman's work.
"He has the knowledge, energy and integrity that will build upon the legacy of operational excellence that Brian has built over the last four years," Al Qahtani said, per the release.
The release said that before joining Motiva in 2018, Rinker led Limetree Bay Energy as its CEO and was Husky Energy's executive vice president of Downstream and Midstream.
"I've long admired Motiva for its best-in-class operations, exceptional company values and industry leadership," he said in the release. "I'm thrilled to join such a high-performing organization and look forward to building on the strong foundation that Brian developed while strengthening Motiva's position in the Aramco family of companies."
According to the release, Rinker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University where he graduated with honors and has successfully completed executive programs at Harvard Business School, Stanford University and Case Western Reserve University.
His lengthy career in the energy sector began with BP, per the release.
Motiva said that Coffman's last day is on June 30.
"Jeff's focus on developing strong teams, continuously improving and delivering exceptional results will serve Motiva well in its aim to be the pacesetter within our industry," Coffman said in the release.
