The Shadow Creek girls’ basketball team is coming off a season where the Sharks went 25-5 and reached the Regional Championship for the first time, and the team looks to continue its success with a team returning five starters.
Last year was the first season Shadow Creek played in Class 6A, moving over from Class 5A, but the Sharks didn’t skip a beat. Senior R’Mani Taylor leads the way as last year’s District Offensive Player of the Year who averaged 15 points and 4.3 assists, according to Click2Houston.
Brooklin Brown was first team All-District last season when she averaged 11.6 points and 6.7 boards. Acacia Edmond comes into her junior season hoping to improve on what was already a good year where she made second team All-District, averaging 5.4 points per game. Rounding out the starting lineup is shooting guard Alana Trail. The team is coached by LaToya Micheaux-Giles.
The Sharks kicked off the season with a 55-31 win over Dulles, with Trail leading the way with 11 points. They followed that by beating Clear Springs 68-44, with Brown scoring 24 points in a nice offensive surge.

And in the fourth game, Shadow Creek topped Hightower 51-45 with 18 points from Taylor.

“We see you with the double doubles!!!” Shadow Creek GBB tweeted.
